Our Story

Founded in the heart of China, ME, the Greater Neck Road Neighborhood Association began as a small group of concerned citizens who wanted to clean up local parks. Over the years, we have grown into a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves thousands of residents annually.

We believe that a neighborhood is more than just houses—it's the people. Our approach is holistic, focusing on immediate relief, sustainable community development, and long-term advocacy.

Our Programs & Services

We operate several core programs designed to address the specific needs of the Greater Neck Road neighborhood. Each program is driven by volunteers and sustained by donor generosity.

Community Food Pantry

Our pantry operates three days a week, providing fresh produce, canned goods, and household necessities to individuals and families facing temporary or chronic food insecurity.

  • Serves 200+ families monthly

Youth Mentorship & Education

We provide a safe space for youth after school, offering tutoring, life skills workshops, and recreational activities to keep kids engaged and on the path to success.

Neighborhood Revitalization

A beautiful neighborhood fosters community pride. We organize bi-weekly street cleanups, park restorations, and home repair assistance for elderly residents.

  • Minor exterior home repairs for seniors

  • Pantry Assistant
    Help sort, bag, and distribute food. (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9 AM - 1 PM)
  • Youth Tutor
    Assist students with homework. Background check required. (Mon-Wed, 3 PM - 5 PM)

    Help plan and execute community events, fundraisers, and cleanups. (Flexible hours)

Are my donations tax-deductible?

Yes. Greater Neck Road Neighborhood Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 81-5419689). All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. You will receive an email receipt for your records.

How are the funds used?

85% of all funds raised go directly into our community programs, such as the food pantry, youth mentorship, and neighborhood revitalization. The remaining 15% is utilized for essential administrative and fundraising costs to sustain our operations.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone with a desire to help! We welcome individuals, corporate groups, and families. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Certain roles, like youth tutoring, require a standard background check.
